Professional Projects
Most of my current work is done for the Department of Anesthesia at Dalhousie University’s Medical School. The public website is constrained by Dal’s policies, and basically has to look more or less like the other Dalhousie sites. The bulk of my work is on the internal site, but that is a secure site for department members only, which makes it impossible to use that as a showcase for my work. Ah well.
Dr. Chisholm
I have also has the opportunity to do a site for Dr. Chisholm, who is one of the docs in my department here at the hospital. He is also involved in cosmetic and sweat management work, and wanted an uncluttered site to advertise those pursuits. The site follows a basic template I often use to get sites off the ground.

The M. C. Escher Digital Library Project
This project required the conversion of a book by M. C. Escher into a digital library (basically, a web site). The book itself is out of print, but please don’t link to or re-publish the graphics. Do, on the other hand, take a chance to see some of the lesser-known works of this great artist.

Academic Papers
These are a few of the major papers from my Masters program. I feel that these are the ones most likely to provide information about topics employers might want to know about (or know that I know about), and which are not displayed as easily on a web page.
Information Literacy Instruction and Humanities Undergraduates – Are Current Models Appropriate for Scholarship in English Literature, is a rather long paper discussing the applicability of current information literacy models to arts (particularly literature) students. It includes an evaluation of five different online information literacy tutorials, as well as some recommendations for information literacy instructors who may be dealing with arts students.
Self-Assessment Report – Academic Literacy is a much shorter evaluation of my own Academic Literacy in-class tutorial. Aside from the evaluation, it also includes the exercises and evaluation forms I used in class.
Finally, Records Management Portfolio – School Of Information Management Website (2005-2006), co-written with Heather Ludlow, deals with a proposal for a comprehensive set of records management policies for the School of Information Management at Dalhousie. These policies include the creation of systematic archives, procedures for adding new records into the system, and a set of policies defining the areas and pages of the web site.
